Um die IT-Systeme des Hessischen Landtags und der Landesverwaltung vor Schadsoftware zu schützen, werden die Anlagen von E-Mails auf veraltete Formate geprüft. Es kann daher vorkommen, dass der Empfang von E-Mails abgelehnt wird.

Konkret geht es um Dokumente und Dateien in den mittlerweile veralteten Microsoft-Formaten *.doc, *.xls, *.ppt, die als Anlage einer E-Mail angefügt wurden. Schadsoftware wie z.B. Trojaner nutzen teilweise diese Dateien, um unerlaubt auf PCs oder andere Endgeräte zuzugreifen. PDF-Dokumente und Dokumente im aktuellen XML-Format (*.docx, *.xlsx, *.pptx, etc.) werden dagegen weiterhin zugestellt.

According to our email security policy, the attachments of all incoming emails are checked for potential malware risks.

In certain cases incoming emails will be rejected. The rejection may result from the fact that the attachments feature outdated formats (such as .doc, .xls, .ppt). These formats are often used by attackers to carry malware designed to compromise systems and/or devices. Therefore only customary file formats (such as .docx, .xlsx, .pptx) as well as pdf documents will be accepted.
